WeChat’s owner Tencent has finally started beta testing for its self-developed AI large model named Hunyuan989 Archives according to local media outlet 36Kr. The move comes several months after fellow Chinese tech giants Alibaba and Baidu launched beta tests of their own AI products. The 36Kr report cited several Tencent employees as saying that they can now experience AI-driven functions from chatting with bots and text-to-image generation to content creation for web pages or mini-programs. The report goes on to say that Tencent has also integrated the generative AI model into its various businesses. [36Kr, in Chinese]
